What's included

Everything required for EMDRIA Certification — in one fee.

Most EMDR programs sell didactic and consultation separately, leaving clinicians to find — and pay for — their own consultant after the training is over. We bundle it all together, with the same consultant from start to finish.

Component 1
40hours

Didactic + Practicum

Live online instruction from EMDRIA-approved trainers, plus supervised practicum where you actively participate in EMDR Therapy as both clinician and client — so you'll know precisely what your clients will experience.

Component 2
10hours

Group Consultation

The 10 hours of consultation EMDRIA requires for full certification — included in tuition. Pre-scheduled, paired with your cohort, same EMDRIA-approved consultant for all 10 hours.

Component 3
40CE

APA CE Credit

Approved for 40 APA continuing education credits — counts toward your renewal cycle as well as toward EMDRIA certification. Documentation handled and issued at completion.

How the training runs

Two weekends. One cohort. One consultant.

The training is delivered live online via Zoom across two three-day weekends, with consultation scheduled around your cohort. No travel. No fragmented experience.

Why this program

What sets the Triad EMDR Basic Training apart.

Cohort consistency

Same EMDRIA-approved consultant throughout all 10 consultation hours. You're not handed off mid-process or matched with a new consultant after Part II ends — the relationship and the case continuity stay intact.

Experiential by design

You actively participate in EMDR Therapy as a client during the practicum — so you'll know precisely what your clients will experience when you start your own EMDR work post-certification.

Bundled pricing

Most EMDR programs sell didactic and consultation separately, leaving clinicians to source — and pay for — a consultant after Part II. Triad bundles the 10 required hours into the registration fee.

Triad EMDR vs other programs

Why bundled wins.

The 10 hours of consultation aren't optional — they're an EMDRIA-required step on the path to certification. Most programs treat that as your problem to solve.

Evidence Base

EMDR is a first-line, evidence-based treatment for PTSD.

The American Psychological Association's Clinical Practice Guideline identifies trauma-focused therapies — including EMDR — as having the strongest evidence base for adult PTSD, recommended as first-line treatments. Subsequent meta-analyses continue to validate EMDR's efficacy across trauma populations.

For a current overview of the literature, EMDRIA maintains a living bibliography of recent EMDR research at emdria.org/about-emdr-therapy/recent-research-about-emdr.

Foundational evidence: Chen et al. (2014), Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease — meta-analysis of EMDR efficacy in adult PTSD treatment.
Frequently asked

Common questions about EMDR Basic Training.

Who is eligible to enroll?
EMDR Basic Training is open to licensed mental health clinicians (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners) and to graduate students working under licensed supervision. Specific eligibility requirements per EMDRIA guidelines are confirmed at registration.
Does the 10 hours of consultation actually meet EMDRIA's certification requirement?
Yes. The 10 hours of group consultation included in the program are delivered by EMDRIA-approved consultants and meet the consultation requirement for EMDRIA Certification. After completing all 50 hours, you have everything required to apply for full EMDRIA Certified Therapist status.
Is the training really delivered live, or is it self-paced?
It's fully live, delivered via Zoom in Central Time. EMDRIA does not approve self-paced EMDR Basic Training — the practicum component requires real-time supervised practice with peers and trainers.
What does it cost — and can my employer sponsor it?
Pricing depends on session and cohort size; we offer volume discounts when employers enroll multiple clinicians. Request a quote and our team will share current pricing along with employer sponsorship options. EMDR is a popular benefit for behavioral-health workforces — a number of our employer partners use Triad EMDR as a recruiting and retention tool.
Are accommodations available?
Yes. Disability accommodations are available — please contact us before registration so we can coordinate appropriate arrangements with the trainer team in advance.
What other certifications does Triad offer?
In addition to EMDR, we offer Hypnotherapy certification through The Wellness Institute, and have additional certifications in development including Artificial Intelligence in clinical practice, Telemental Health, and Motivational Interviewing. See all brands and offerings.
